Marvellous Maths Starters

 Today, we have been consolidating our learning of Shape. So far, we have looked at triangles and their properties and quadrilaterals and their properties. 

We first cut out our shapes, and then, as a table, we organised the shapes into different groups.

As you can see, we are absolute experts at this and are ready for our next Shape learning - Perimeter!

Half Way!

 Year 4 have continued with their self portraits and have now begun to combine their sketching skills with their watercolour techniques. They have also combined their image with pencil crayon to add detail to hair and their backgrounds. I'm sure you'll agree they're looking pretty good!

Yaer 4 will now be attempting full face sketches and watercolours for their final portrait pieces.

Scary Teeth Time !

Year 4 have been looking at dental hygiene as part of their science topic. To do this they used disclosing tablets. There are natural dye tablets which show any plaque on their teeth. Blue is recent plaque that is easily brushed away on a daily basis. Pink is plaque that is older and shows the children where they are missing when they brush their teeth. This shows them where to focus their brushing harder in the future...

Year 4 had a fantastic time and have now learnt which teeth to focus on when brushing their teeth in the future.
