4G's Assembly - Recyclops!

Before the holidays, 4G put on a spectacular show for the children and parents. It was all about Recyclops (and her wonderful team). She was an eco warrior but she had evil Anticlops against her, undoing all of her good actions.

We watched Anticlops bully Recyclops out of doing her brilliant job and losing all of her friends. She almost gave up!

In the end, with some brilliant singing and inspirational words from environmental activists Greta Thunberg and Pete Calingski, she formed a huge team and cleaned up the earth!

To end, we had a brilliant message from Antghar and Decsharn about what we can do to be more like Recyclops. This included: taking old clothes to charity shops, using old paper and material to make art, swapping from plastic to reusable straws and using a compost bin for our food waste.

However, most importantly, we has such fun rehearsing and performing our assembly. I am sure that all teachers, parents and children who came would say how well 4G did.

Just remember... Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!!

Super Science Practicals!

This half term, Year 4 have taken part in lots of science practicals this term in our topic, Electricity. Have a look:
In this practical lesson, we were given wires, a battery and a bulb. We were told we had to turn on the bulb. It took us a few minutes to complete a full circuit and switch on the bulb.

In this practical starter, we were shown objects such as toys, pencils, a lamp, a remote and lots more, also 2 hoops which were going to be 2 groups. First, we discussed what groups they could possibly be: conducts heat, conducts electricity, made of plastic were some of the ideas we came up with. We finally decided that the groups were objects that conduct electricity and those that don't. Then we worked as a class to organise the objects into the 2 groups. Did we group correctly?
